Welcome Home!

Homeownership Made Possible

We want to help more Houstonians own their own home. We acquire vacant, abandoned or damaged properties and facilitate the development of affordable new homes on them. Qualified homebuyers are able to obtain additional assistance from the City of Houston in order to purchase these homes with down payment assistance programs and the Houston Community Land Trust, which can help keep property taxes from rising too quickly so you can stay in your home.

Homebuyer Requirements

To purchase a home through the Houston Land Bank, all prospective homeowners must meet income qualification guidelines and complete a HUD-certified homebuyer education course. These steps help ensure long-term success and stability on your journey to homeownership. Proof of both income eligibility and course completion will be required during the application process.
